Pascal Dubourg Glatigny

Pascal Dubourg Glatigny is CNRS research professor at the EHESS in Paris (Centre Alexandre Koyré). He is a specialist of art history and visual culture working on the interaction between art, knowledge,e and society with a special focus on multicultural and transcultural phenomena. Pascal Dubourg Glatigny is the initiator and facilitator of the research project militrakonto (https://mondmilito.hypotheses.org/militrakonto-english). The collaborative website was founded in 2018 and aims at collecting sources and produce historical analysis on the life and action of worldwide Esperanto-speakers in the period around WWII, from the time of the growing fascism at the beginning of the 1930’s up to the death of Stalin in 1953.

Denis Eckert

Denis Ekcert is CNRS research professor at the Campus Condorcet in Paris-Aubervilliers (Centre Géographie-Cités) and associated researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch in Berlin.

He is a specialist of human geography, working in different fields:

  • the recent migration trends and border issues in Eastern Europe (mostly in and around the Ukraine)
  • the global diffusion of scientific ideas and practices.
  • the early decades of the Esperanto movement.

 Esperantist movement with its early global diffusion patterns has become one of his main research interests. He is conducting a research project funded by EHESS (Paris) on the early corpuses of Esperanto textbooks and dictionaries (1887-1914).

In co-operation with B. Struck and M. Koschek in St Andrews), and with the NETCONF project (M. Maisonobe et al., Paris), he also investigates the global events of the early Esperantist movement, specifically trying to map the network of the participants to the 9 successive World Congresses that were held before WWI.
